Muriwai School Bush camp

In week four the senior school went on a camp and had the time of our lives. The walks were long but we survived. The food was great and so was the view.

Here are some poems I made up

Obstacle Courses, Burma Trails

Making Bivouacs Without Using Nails

A  Nice Walk Down To The Beach All The Waves Were Out Of Reach

And Now That We’re Back

We have Cleaned Our Pack

Muriwai beach camp Under the shining stars Rest kids dreaming of Mars

In the bush the next day

Waiting children want to play

Another day lies ahead

I want to rest my tired head

At camp we had 1 hour to build a bivouac and make a water proof structure and then our huts got judged and the teachers chose  1st, 2nd and 3rd. Luckily it didn't rain.  We were so tired when we came back.

  1. Kia ora Charlotte, Miss D here from Paparoa Range School. What an amazing hut you created. I like that you used materials that had already fallen from the trees, not live branches and leaves. Your poems are great, especially the final line, resting your tired head! I agree camp does make us tired. What was your biggest piece of learning you took from camp?
