The Freedom Merchants.
Hi there
At the end of last term we were given two free books.
We could chose one of the books to make a report about so I chose this book.
I found the process very fun and simple. I learnt that there are multiple ways to do one thing. The part I liked most had to be the character description. I think I did quite well and because I read the book twice I did better.
Over all it is a better way to read a book because you get to know to book really well.
I hope you like my review.
Do not be afraid to comment.

Review 2
Hi there
We did a nother review on a different book and I made a word cloud about the storyline. I typed in some words and the program shuffled them so that it is just has the main description.

Review
Hi there
Today we had to do a quick review on a book that we had never read before.
I chose a book about traditions from Africa.
Once we had finished we had to make a thinglink.
Here is the finished product.

What Is A Credible Source of information???
Hi there
Today we played a game of digital snakes and ladders.
On the board there are links to go and explore something else.
I landed on the square which lead to a drawing about Credible Sources.
I watched the video and answered the question.
Here is what I found.

Hi there
Today we had cybersmart and had to ask some questions.
How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS? Sifa moved 2133 km, Devesh moved 2020 km and Caroline moved 2935 km.Why do people make the choice to move to different countries? They move because they want a new lifestyle and a better background for their children. Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us? The media says that migrants are taking over the country and are applying for all the jobs. In my view that is a good thing because no one would apply for that job any way.
Here is a video that we listened to about some views of the lies that were told about their background. I found it very emotional. https://vimeo.com/182020903

Hi there
This term we are going to be making a toy each so that we get an understanding about how complicated it is to make a good and stable toy.
Hopefully it will work with the information I have gathered.

Overall I think that I learnt enough to make a toy later in the year. Hopefully with some help from my friends, my toy will be a success and the toy will not fail on me.

Toys for England and Toys for Africa
There were enough toys to last a lifetime.
On Tuesday the senior school went to motat and learnt about toys that were old and new. Some had moving parts and others were simple and mind blowing. We were shown how to use the toys and how they were similar to the old versions e.g spinning tops and beyblades.
The spinning top has no plastic it was all wood and the beyblades were plastic and metal. The old er the toys are the less plastic there is on the toy. The newer they are the more plastic and metal there is on it. There is less plastic on the older ones because it was more expensive to use plastic and it was easier to use wood and fabric.
After that we got to play with the toys for a while. Then we went outside and explored the rest of motat. We thought that we were ripped of because things were not working at the time. But we really enjoyed playing with the toys and learning about them.
Everyone was excited to go to the da vinci expedition. I learnt quite a lot at the expedition about how toys move with different parts. He was a very smart man and even invented the bike and the first sort of car. He also designed the catapult and the parachute. He drew some of the things we saw and did not actually make them but the method was there. He was a mechanic, an artist and an inventor.
Overall I think that I learnt enough to make a toy later in the year. Hopefully with some help from my friends, my toy will be a success and the toy will not fail on me.
This recount has been edited by me alone and not checked by my teacher. I am learning to work independently.

Blog it right
Today James came in and taught us how to make a great blog comment. He gave us a blog with some bad comment's and we had to make them better. To start it with a greeting that related to us or related to the week makes it easier to reply to. After that we had to relate with what they did and with what we liked or had done in the past. Over all I think I learnt that all of my other comments were really bad compared with what we ended up with. I hope you have all learnt something and can now write a better comment.
Happy blogging

This Is How We Blog It
Today James came in and taught us how to make an interesting blog. The class went on a padlet and put all of their ideas together. We each wrote our names and how we thought we could improve our blog and comments. We had a look at some other blogs and their comments and learnt how to tell a good comment from a bad comment. I hope you enjoy reading all our ideas. Feel free to leave a comment below. :)

Muriwai School Bush camp
In week four the senior school went on a camp and had the time of our lives. The walks were long but we survived. The food was great and so was the view.
Here are some poems I made up
Obstacle Courses, Burma Trails
Making Bivouacs Without Using Nails
A Nice Walk Down To The Beach All The Waves Were Out Of Reach
And Now That We’re Back
We have Cleaned Our Pack
Muriwai beach camp Under the shining stars Rest kids dreaming of Mars
In the bush the next day
Waiting children want to play
Another day lies ahead
I want to rest my tired head
At camp we had 1 hour to build a bivouac and make a water proof structure and then our huts got judged and the teachers chose 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Luckily it didn't rain. We were so tired when we came back.
